Safeguarding

Safeguarding
At South Molton Community Primary School, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where all children are valued, listened to and able to thrive.
We recognise our statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils and are committed to maintaining a strong safeguarding culture across the school. We work closely with parents, carers and partner agencies to help ensure that children receive the right help, at the right time, and that any concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing are identified and acted upon promptly.
We understand that safeguarding encompasses all aspects of a child's welfare, including their physical and mental health, safety, emotional wellbeing and protection from harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation and radicalisation.
All staff, governors and volunteers share responsibility for safeguarding and receive regular training to help them identify concerns, respond appropriately and fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities. The welfare of the child is always our paramount consideration.
We are committed to safer recruitment practices and robust safeguarding procedures to ensure that everyone who works with children in our school is suitable to do so.
