Solving a mystery!

This week we have been solving a murder mystery by plotting the suspects heart rates throughout the day. We used our data alongside other evidence to decide on who committed the murder!

Learning summary w/b 9th November

I have been really impressed with the homework Landacre class completed over half term on the human body. It has really helped us kickstart our new “Blood Heart” topic.

All our finished art work 😀

I am really proud of all the children as I think you will agree, this artwork is amazing!

Forest school fun! (Smiling despite the rain)

Our amazing artwork!

We have had such a lovely week in Year 6! We have learnt about the Tardigrade (a very strange creature!), written kennings poems and smashed long multiplication. We have also been getting creative and starting some work on our collage “beasts”. We cannot wait to share the finished product but meanwhile please take a look us creating our backgrounds and the main feature- the eyes!

This week we have been focusing on classification in science linked to our topic Beast Creator. We first tried making a classification key for something we know well (sweets!) and then used our knowledge to write classification keys for minibeasts.

Homelearning 18.9.20

Maths pages- 4 and 5 Place Value

Literacy pages- 4 (Nouns) and 6 (Verbs)

This week in maths we have been putting numbers on number lines up to 10,000,000. We couldn’t resist making some human numberlines of our own!

Welcome back!
It has been lovely to welcome back our new Year 6 this week and what a busy week it has been! We have been out on minibeast hunts and created choice chambers for the woodlice we collected. After 24 hours we looked to see which habitats they preferred- there were a few surprises and definitely some escapees!
