Miss Yeo Exe Class

Fun Easter activity to have a go at - Where's Wally South Molton Primary School edition! Can you find all the members of staff?

Hello Exe Class,

just a quick message to you all to say I hope you are all well, happy and being well behaved for your parents!

Try your best to do some of the core learning activities - reading, writing, maths and physical activity each day. You don't have to spend a long time on each activity, little and often is better. If you are getting upset or frustrated please don't worry, take a break and come back to it later. Try and get outside (safely) as much as you can, play games, bake, grow and make things together.

It must be very strange for you not being at school, it is for me too! I will be calling all of your parents after the Easter holiday to see how you are getting on so you can tell me what you have been up to.

Enjoy the Easter break and I will speak to you all the week after :)

Making habitats for different animals in outdoor learning.

We used 2Publish on Purple Mash to draw and write facts about the animals we chose to learn about it this week.

We really enjoyed having our first go using the new chrome books which have just arrived! We were lucky to have some Year 5 children come in and show us how to use them carefully, log in and use the internet to research some animals.

We had a visit from Exmoor Zoo today. We got to see and touch a tenrec, a snake, a meercat and an owl. We were very excited and asked lots of interesting questions.

The children took part in the RSPB bird watch during outdoor learning. They learnt to look closely at the different colours, sizes, shapes and sounds of the birds they spotted.

We had a lovely time visiting the Christmas trees at the church - we think our school tree is the best!

The children had a great time taking part in balanceability sessions over the last few weeks.

ongoing home learning - Please help your child to practise the words for the songs in the Christmas play.

In maths we have been learning about the part, part whole model. We used it to show how a group of objects or number can be split into parts in different ways but that the 'whole' number stays the same.

We compared numbers and groups of objects using the < = and > signs.
