Storytelling yoga! We used 6 key yoga poses to sequence and tell stories to one another.

We made Brazilian headdresses for South Molton's Pannier Market concert. Some of us will be performing as part of our school choir!

We have been learning about the functions and parts of plants! We went outside in the sunshine, sketching and labeling flowers.

We read lots of stories to Year 1 and practiced reading with expression!

We have been observing the growth of our sunflowers!

Year 3/4 cricket and rounders festival at South Molton Community College!

We went to see if the explorer was in his tent and discovered that he wrote us ALL an individual letter in response to the letters we sent him!

In outdoor learning we have been estimating and measuring objects using different units of measure (m, cm and mm).

An explorer has been camping in our school field! We have been making inferences about the explorer and the countries they may have visited...

Competition: Which team can grow the tallest sunflower?! We planted sunflowers in groups, making wishes to our seeds in the hope that our sunflowers will grow really tall!


In groups we have worked really hard to make electric cars, problem solving to ensure our circuits make the cars move forwards!

World Book Day!

We designed very imaginative obstacle courses in PE in small groups.

Enjoying our literacy book 'Grendal: A cautionary tale about chocolate!' in the sunshine.


We've been investigating static electricity!

In science we made a 'human' circuit!

In December we sent letters to the Primeminister about the Christmas advert 'Rang-tan' as we felt that we need to stop the mass production of Palm Oil to help save orangutans. This week we had TWO replies from the government.

We have been learning all about Chinese New Years! We ATTEMPTED to eat some Chinese Noodles with chopsticks!

We had the most amazing time at the dance festival at South Molton Community College!

We have been learning the names of our teeth in forest school!

Tomato challenge! We tried to invent ways to help people in developing counties transport vegetables from the top of mountains to the bottom....without the vegetables getting squashed!

We have been learning to play the violins!

We have been scientists and conducted experiments to compare toothpaste brands!

We have been trying to earn pieces of our Mr Potato head for fantastic behaviour and learning... today we completed him! We now need to make Mrs Potato head so we can win a class treat!!!

We have been acting out stories to the rest of the class!

We have been learning about the importance of brushing our teeth! We used disclosing tablets to show the amount of plaque on our teeth before and after brushing them!!

In P.E we have been learning to curl!!!

MISSION: to build a tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows!

In forest school we completed an obstacle course blindfolded in pairs- the person who was not blindfolded has to direct their partner around the course only using their voice. We also tried to make the Braille alphabet out of natural resources.

We have been teaching ourselves an extract about Louis Braille from our new text 'How to Invent'.

Inspired by William Smith, we decided to make fossils out of clay!

We swapped roles with Miss Shinn in maths and became the teachers!

We have started our Cricket unit in P.E and we're very excited to be taught by a cricket coach!

We were lucky enough to go into Landacre class to listen to their AMAZING stories they wrote in literacy.

We have cooked lots of delicious gingerbread trees this week! YUMMY!

In forest school we made Christmas wreaths out of nature!

We have learning all about children's lives in WW1! We ended the week by playing lots of old fashioned games!

This week we visited the library as part of our '100 things to do before we leave South Molton'

We have been archaeologists and have been exploring fossils in science!

In forest school we have been making stick trails. They included some very creative booby-traps!!

In forest school this week we have been sketching autumn trees.

We went to a WW1 exhibition in South Molton where we've looked at the artefacts. Many children within our class also sang remembrance songs too.

We have been cooking WW1 cookies and have made our own ration books!

In art we made poppies using oil pastels and used them to create a soldiers silhouette.

To celebrate Halloween we wrote spooky stories, dressed up, made slime and played Halloween rugby games!

In outdoor learning this week we have been making bird feeders and 'bug hotels'!

Thank you to all the children for putting SO much effort into their homework projects. Your trenches and bunkers are amazing and very creative!!!

We have been looking at souvenirs soldiers made in the trenches during WW1.

In science this week we have been investigating our shadows!

We have been making poppies in remembrance of all the soldiers that fought in WW1.

World War One- Topic

We have been learning lots about WW1 in Farley Class. So far we have created a timeline as a class to discover why WW1 started, have investigated the May families traditional WW1 breakfast table and have learnt all about their roles in the war. This week we have been looking at the life of Master May, a soldier. We have learnt all about his life in the trenches and have even cooked a trench favourite- Corn beef stew! 


In science we have been learning all about light, light sources and reflections. Last week, we went outside and explored reflections and how light reflections help us see. 

In music we have been learning how to play Hooters!

Maths investigations!

We have been working in groups to solve a series of challenges to help Miss Shinn solve a very puzzling mystery! 

Bike week!
During bike week we had so much fun in Farley class. We created bikes out of nature during forest school, wrote stories about our dream bike rides and competed in a bike race.
