Please remember that P.E is every Tuesday and Friday so please make sure your child has their P.E kit.

We also have outdoor learning every Tuesday afternoon so please ensure your child remembers to bring in their wellingtons and a spare change of clothes/waterproofs .

Home Learning- Week 1

Hello Farley class smiley,

 

I hope you’re all happy and smiling, being good for your parents and completing lots of home learning. Please continue to complete some reading, writing, maths and physical activity every day. You don’t have to spend a long time on each activity, little and often is better! There is a wide range of home learning that is accessible through the parents page on our website. You can access your google drive from home using your log in if you would like to use Slides or Docs. Year 2/3 do not have access to Google Classroom, however you are welcome to create documents as part of your home learning if you wish. It will be fantastic to see all of your AMAZING work when we return. Please make sure you fit in some fun activities too- there are lots of great art and science activities suggested on the website for you to explore.
 

Please make sure you have a break during the Easter holidays and try and have some fun at home- try and do your daily exercise in the sunshine (safely) as much as you can . It must be very strange for you not being at school- I’m finding it very strange not seeing your smiley faces every day! I will be ringing you all after the Easter holidays to find out what you have been up to- keep smiling and working hard!

We are learning about the Stone Age! In forest school we worked in groups and were hunter gatherers, searching for food to eat!

We have been learning how to play a range of Samba instruments. We have learnt that the sounds of each instrument compliment one another, particularly when exploring different rhythms.

We created a Flip-o-saurus book! We each chose a different dinosaurs head, body and tail to create our imaginative dinosaurs- really focusing upon each dinosaurs characteristics!

In outdoor learning we made a scarecrow- 'Farmer Joe!' We wrote instructions about how we made him.

To introduce our topic, 'The Big Bang', the children went to the forest school area to discover that it was VERY messy and was taped over with warning tape! Once back in the classroom the children watched a video that revealed that not one.....not two..... but THREE Brachiosaurus' had entered the forest school area over the weekend!
