A busy and fun week learning about the Russian folktale, "The Enormous Turnip." We have also learned about the forces: push and pull. We had fun exploring our classroom and outdoor area to see what we could push and pull.
Fun in the sun whilst exploring capacity.
We learned about the final stage of the lifecycle of a butterfly and had a lot of fun decorating our own butterflies. The children were very busy and creative.

We had lots of fun in the snow!
STEM investigation - After learning about the first stage of the life cycle of a butterfly (the egg), we explored different materials to see which material would protect an egg the most. Have a look at our pictures to see how our investigation went. As a class, we decided that bubble wrap was the best material because it is "bouncy".
As part of our topic about remembrance, we have learned about rationing and life in the trenches during WW1. The children used their imagination to pretend to cook in our outdoor area. Some of our children also used lego to create trenches.
We made our own version of 'The Gingerbread Man'... 'The Leaf Man!' The children selected their own natural resources and tools to create their character. We also decorated anti-bullying superhero masks to spot kindness in our classroom.
We had lots of fun learning about the text, 'The Gingerbread Man.' The children decided to build a boat in our construction area for the Gingerbread Man to cross the river. They then used sticks and string to fish from their boat. Lots of independent learning!
We've had a very busy week! We've learned about Bonfire Night, Diwali and Remembrance Day. We hope you enjoy our Diva Lamps! We have also been recognising certain coins and using everyday language to do with money.
We had a lot of fun with the Halloween themed activities and learning about space in the Space Odyssey! We have also been learning about our body parts and senses.
This week we have been looking at 2D shapes, creating pictures using 2D shapes and hunting for shapes in our environment.
We had a lot of fun at the firework themed dance festival.
We have been doing a lot of learning based on our class text, 'Funny Bones' by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. Have a look at what we've been up to...
Another busy week in Bray Class! The children have settled in really well and they are trying their best in everything that they do.
We've had a very busy week - lots of learning, baking and smiles.
