The chickens we hatched are now 6 weeks old and getting bigger each day! The children have been holding and are enjoying taking care of them.
A little bit of Drama...
Based on the story 'Room on the Broom,' the children have created their own story called 'Room on the Surfboard.' The children loved getting into character and acting the story using different props!
The children really enjoyed practising their passing and tackling skills this week. We learnt how to stop the ball and how to change direction to get around a defender!
This afternoon we all went to the pond and had a go at pond dipping! We found a dragonfly nymph, water lice, tadpoles and lots of other creatures! We also saw a big fish but it was too quick to get a picture of it!
The chicks have hatched!
We have been really excited all day watching the chicks hatch! We managed to catch one chick hatching on video!
Here is the list of all the words we have learnt in Year 2. Make sure you know how to spell all of them! You could write the words outside, you could make the words using pasta or even just practise writing them in the air!
A skype call from Neil Armstrong...
The children were really excited to ask questions and learn about a journey into space when they skyped Neil Armstrong!
Launching our Rockets!
As part of our topic on Space, the children designed and made rockets. They then had great fun testing them outside!
The children really enjoyed showing off a range of skills, from working together as a team, to controlling a football.
The chicks are growing...
Today we candled (looked inside) the eggs and saw the tiny embryos moving! They are due to hatch on Monday 20th March.
A visit from a tractor!
World Book Day!
The children really enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character. We wrote a story as a whole class which you can read below!
We really enjoyed performing this story to the children in Yellow Class!
We are hatching some chicks!
We have been really excited in Orange Class this week as we have put 12 eggs in our incubator! We are hoping to have chicks hatch in 3 weeks time.
