Miss Yeo Exe Class

A few pictures from our Little Red Riding Hood class assembly. The children absolutely brilliant and were all very proud of themselves.

During outdoor learning we came across some other children who had found a house martin nest in the school roof. We learnt some interesting facts like you will never see a house martin land on the ground - they always fly around trying to catch flies. We sat in the sunshine and sketched them whilst they flew in and out of the nest.

We were very lucky to have a visit from the Exmoor Search and Rescue team today to help us learn more about our topic.

Saunton Sands beach trip! We had a great time rolling down sand dunes, playing caterpillar rounders, searching in the rock pools and making sandcastles.

Day 3 - rivers and water! We painted different shades of blue and some white onto rocks to make a sea scene. We used tissue paper to create a collage of rocks and water. We also looked at images of water where there are reflections. We created our own by painting trees and folding paper over to make the reflection.

day 2 - towering trees! We have used wax crayons to make leaf drawings and oil paints and water colours to make landscape pictures with trees inspired by different artists.

Year 1 are working towards their Arts Awards this week. We have had Linda Mitchell in working with us to learn all about 'The Colours of Exmoor'. Here are some pictures of what we have been up to today.
